Getting Straight With Selfish

Before you delve any deeper into my online home – I need to set the record straight on ‘selfish’. If you worry about being seen as selfish for spending time on yourself, you are probably one of the least selfish people on earth. And that won’t change because that’s who you are at your heart. To be selfish means to lack consideration for other people or to be chiefly concerned with your own profit or pleasure. Spending some well-needed, well-deserved time to focus on you – will never make you selfish. When you’re running that hot bath, doing that yoga class, or going for that run, are you totally lacking in consideration for everyone and everything else? Are you putting yourself in a more profitable place than the others are? Or are you re-fuelling so that you don’t grind to an almighty great halt? Re-energising, so that you can continue to serve? As women in society, we have been instilled with the belief that turning away from our service to others – to look inwardly and to tend to ourselves and our own needs – carries a certain shame and dishonour. This is not the truth. At least it doesn’t have to be yours.

So let’s explore a world where it’s not just OK – but essential to think and feel like yourself. A world where you can be unapologetically you. A world where you just being in it, makes all the difference. A world where you can talk about and be all things ‘self’ without being labelled the ‘ish’.

Learning to Self-Serve

In our world today there are far too many extrinsic measures of worth and not nearly enough intrinsic. Society is teaching us to constantly look outside of ourselves, which is a big reason I became a Personal Development Coach for women; so that I can support my clients to start looking inwardly, to grow in self-worth and to thrive from the inside out. There’s so much of your ‘self’ you can serve and nourish, that contributes to inner health and wellbeing. 

People-Pleasing, Soul-Receding

Constantly worrying about what others think of you can lead to people-pleasing behaviour where obtaining approval from others becomes more important than your value to yourself. When you look outwardly much more than inwardly, you loose connection with your soul – your very essence, your true self. Ignoring and pushing away your own wants and needs in order to accommodate others is a sure-fire path to emotional overwhelm and burnout, whilst having everyone else to blame. This loss of self-connection can lead to feelings of low self-worth, lost identity and a vicious cycle of guilt, shame and self-aversion.

How will my coaching help?

My 1:1 coaching is designed to break your cycle of self-denial, help you to rediscover and deepen your authenticity, see the bigger picture for yourself and realise your unlimited potential as you work towards achieving things you’ve had on hold for some time.

Twelve sessions offer the opportunity for deeper self-awareness, connection and commitment and an increase in confidence and personal power whilst you bring your goals to life.

Escape & Explore Session

One hour of safe and brave space with someone who is totally pro-you, is the perfect opportunity to explore something you're feeling stuck with and come away feeling inspired, focussed and primed for positive action.
